Welcome to The Kominsky Lab
We work to unravel the complex dynamics of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). These diseases, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, have devastating impacts on people of all ages. Our research focuses on changes in microenvironmental metabolism and the role of these alterations in biological pathways that influence IBD pathogenesis.
We use a combination of culture-based, in vitro techniques in combination with murine colitis models. These approaches enable us to tease-apart inflammation, immune responses and host-microbe relationships. Our goal is to shed light on pathways involved in inflammatory disease and reveal novel templates for the development, testing and implementation of promising IBD therapies.
Our team enjoys access to full administrative and technical support, a new, cutting-edge lab and the beautiful wilderness surrounding Montana State University.
